अथ चैनं नित्यजातं नित्यं वा मन्यसे मृतम्।
तथापि त्वं महाबाहो नैवं शोचितुमर्हसि
तथापि त्वं महाबाहो नैवं शोचितुमर्हसि
Transliteration
atha chainaṁ nitya-jātaṁ nityaṁ vā manyase mṛitam
tathāpi tvaṁ mahā-bāho naivaṁ śhochitum arhasi
tathāpi tvaṁ mahā-bāho naivaṁ śhochitum arhasi
Synonyms
jātasya: of one who has taken his birth;
hi: certainly;
dhruvaḥ: a fact;
mṛtyuḥ: death;
dhruvam: it is also a fact;
janma: birth;
mṛtasya: of the dead;
ca: also;
tasmāt: therefore;
aparihārye: of that which is unavoidable;
arthe: in the matter;
na: do not;
tvam: you;
śocitum: to lament;
arhasi: deserve .;
English Meaning
One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again. Therefore, in the unavoidable discharge of your duty, you should not lament.
